On the ferry I had spoken to a truck driver he said that in France hitchhiking is still popular so i tried, I wrote a little sign saying south, and stood by the road.. waiting

 

So many trucks just drove by, then one stopped he was going to Marseille, so i got on the truck and a looong drive later I arrived in Marseille, knackered i found a small B&B, funnily enough run by an English couple.

 

They were sweet so i booked it for the next two nights so glad to be away.
